Lacock Abbey & Fox Talbot Museum

Lacock Abbey is 3 miles south of Chippenham. The Fox Talbot museum is there... a sort of nirvana for photographers, as it is effectively the birth place of photography. The museum is in a separate building, not far from the abbey and attached house where the Fox Talbot family lived. The exhibition installed when we were there was called 'The Negative' ... a curated show (by John Leongard) consisting of images of original negatives being held by either the photographer or someone  close or related to the photographer... a rather wonderful concept, given that negative in analogue photography was the very beautiful thing that gave birth to the photo, but was rarely seen or exposed to public view.
