Industrials #1 (Bolte Bridge)
I was recently asked for examples of my work related to anything taken around Newport and Williamstown (someone may want to buy one of them as a mural version)... this has got me to again look at a continuing series related to the industrial landscape that started way back in 1992 ... the black and white work was all taken on a 4"x5" monorail camera with the negatives developed in Pyro.
It's pretty much a finished project as access to similar sties is now almost impossible due to obsessive industrial paranoia, OH&S regulations, anti terrorist legislation and public liability problems, as well as the fact that many of these sites have been demolished for apartments and houses.
Hence, I have decided to put up the most significant images in this series in their demographic groupings...
The first group are images of the Bolte Bridge during construction in 1998 ... is it really that long ago!
These images were exhibited at Lab X in a show called Vertigo in 2004 and were large, mural, Digital Type C (Lambda) prints...
