Old Comic

I have been tidying some cupboards recently and came across this very old comic...
Quite a find really and a sobering lesson in how appalling and silly some of the stories were many decades ago... (created in Australia by Peter Chapman and published from 1954 to 1961) ...

As well as the totally silly story and badly drawn images, this appalling advertisment on the back page (an Australian company too!) is a reminder of hurtful language in use in the 1950's ... hopefully things have improved ...

Adelaide Trip 1

These pics are from a rather short trip to Adelaide (in August 2019... way behind re the blog!) to visit family... quite enjoyable but far too short a trip due to limited time and not enough time for much photography...
One of the stops on the way to our first overnight stay at Dunkeld, was Skipton...

New Blurb Book_Archive Project

I have finally completed my new 'Archive' book...
This book is an archive of curiosities, a metaphor for the endless cycle of creation, transformation, scarification, entropy and decay.

It is based on my (somewhat obsessive) collection of detritus, rusted metal, squashed cans, weathered bones, found objects, skeletal remains, rocks, plants and general ephemera I have accumulated over the past decades. Some items are survivors of the inferno of bushfires.

East Coast Trip_7

After Mallacoota, it was the home run... stopping at more favourites... McKenzie River Rainforest walk and Salmon Rocks, Cape Conran (very wild weather and very high tide made things rather difficult though) ...
