Yarra Valley

A recent visit to the Yarra Valley (and the Tarrawarra Museum of Art to see an amazing exhibition by William Delafield Cook) on a hot and steamy day with some amazing cloud formations...

Factory 2

A few more images from around the factory site in the last post ...

Factory

As a complete opposite of the garden pics, here are some images of a Fairfield paper mill that is due to cease operation soon. Thought I had better start making an attempt to photograph it before it goes completely. Who knows what will replace it... most likely an oversupply of compressed housing and a loss of open spaces... whatever happens, it is a hot topic of conversation in the area.

Garden in November

Some pics from the garden... everything looking suitably lush after the recent rain. Who knows what the next stage of climate change will bring, but after our 10 year drought things are looking very fine at the moment.

Stereo Cards

Thought I'd finish off the nostalgia phase by scanning some of my stereo cards. They are quite pale and faded now, but still look fine in the stereo viewer...

And some typical examples of stereo viewers ...

Old Film Packet

A lovely old roll of Gevaert Superchrom (Ortho) film in its packet... the use by date reads January 1951...

Plus an advertisment ...

Old Ilford Photo Packet

Better Pictures

Some helpful tips from Mr. Kodak... Unfortunately the cover is more interesting than the tips....

Old Postcard Packet

Continuing with old things found in second hand stores... This lovely old packet of postcards with some landscape images...

Coke Can (Dead Sea find)

Even more nostalgia... This time a very weathered Coke Can given to me by a very close friend who picked it up in the Dead Sea in Israel... a most beautiful find...

BanTam Duplicator

By the way of nothing in particular... the nostalgia thing has found me scanning a section of an antique box called the 'BanTam Duplicator'... it was designed to produce hand made screen prints of advertisements by a travelling salesman using the inbuilt screen, roller and inks....

Polaroid Discard

Continuing with using the scanner as a recording tool, I found this left over piece of Polaroid material (the bit you throw away after you make the Polaroid picture) and thought it worth recording...
